Any info on Hamer Slammer pickups?

Re: Any info on Hamer Slammer pickups?

I seem to recall that the original Hamer Prototypes came with a triple coil pickup, and I remember that it was listed as a Mighty-Mite pickup. Or is my memory faulty?

(The original Prototype was one of the coolest guitars ever, and there's one in my distant past that has a place on my "Top 5 List Of Guitars I Wish I'd Bought But Didn't Have Any Money".)

Well sorry sort of for the thread revival. Yes the Motherbucker was by Mighty Might, but the Hamer Prototype "Triplecoil" was never a Motherbucker, it was a PAF and Single in one ring in the 80's. The nineties it was a JB and a HRM1 in one ring. The original Prototypes are still my favorite guitars, Andy Summer played two guitar, a Tele and an SG and the Prototype is both of those guitars in one. The Prototype, evolved into the Phantom by the mid 80's then the original Prototype Body Shape was reintroduced in the 90's with the Phantom Name. Although the 81 Prototype and a 96 Phantom (non custom) look the same they sure didn't sound the same. It wasn't just the pickups, but the building techniques were different and the TOM Bridge instead of a Sustainblock.

I've had a few. ;)

When I was 13 there was a white prototype for sale in a small music store that was close to my house....I still think about it!
