...turn on your effects loop, and it doesn't work, then you realize you plugged the cables in the wrong jacks? No? Me neither. LOL

Re: Any of you guys ever...

Nope. I have a breakout box on my pedalboard which I colour coded for all outgoing connections. The fx loop cables are also colour coded, so as long as the colours match up, I'm fine (but I also pretty much leave it alone and don't do much fiddling/rewiring or anything, so once it's setup, I don't really touch it.

Re: Any of you guys ever...

I'm basically saying I thought I broke the effects loop I installed when I changed the power tubes, but to my great joy and relief, I just plugged the cables in backwards.

Re: Any of you guys ever...

I've done that, and I've also put the effects return line into the reverb footswitch jack on the back of my Mesa. That made a bad noise. It took me 10-15 minutes to figure out what was going on.

Re: Any of you guys ever...

I did that with my wife once- embarrassing! they should label those things better.

Exactly what I do: I built a little patch bay and mounted it to the underside of my board. Wrote "IN", "SEND", "RET" in Sharpie above each jack.

I have been known to troubleshoot my entire signal chain before noticing that the amp is on standby though ...

No
I have also never freaked out when we are about to start and i have no sound. frantically check everything until I realize my tuner pedal is messed up so I bypass it.
After show figure out I had it muted.
Never done that.

Re: Any of you guys ever...

I've accidentally plugged my guitar into the output of my pedalboard and the amp to the input.

I hope that's not bad.
