Any opinions on a new amp??

I am new to these boards so thanks in advance for the help.

I am looking to get a new amp pretty soon and was just looking for some more opinions on what to get.

As of right now I am playing a Marshall VS100H with a Peavey or Crate 4x12 cab. (I use the Peavey cab at home and the Crate at church and just carry the head back and forth)

I have mainly played modern rock. Fuel, Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge.. etc, but my band has broken up and I am looking to branch out.
As well I am playing with my church choir and youth praise team. I want something a bit more versatile than what I currently have. I would also like to get away from the stack set up and into a combo I am thinking. In a perfect world I would keep this amp, and buy my new one, but I may have to sell the amp and cab(s) to fuel my purchase.

I have been seriously considering a Fender Deville 2x12 combo, and just getting a pedal in the line for a bit of extra gain when I want it. Or I was looking at a Line 6 Flextone III XL for awhile there. I like the versatilty it had, but I have never really been sold on modeling amps.
The styles I am playing now as mentioned is choir music and with the praise team the music is similiar to Hillsong United, if anyone happens to be familar with them.

I know the 2 amps I mainly considered are not similiar one to another. One being modeling and the other tube, but I am at a real cross roads on which way to go here.

Any other amps you guys would reccomend?

As far as what I am playing guitar wise is a Dean Special Select, and early 90's Ibanez RG H/S/H, and my new Ax, once I get it, Yamaha PACUSA01..

Thanks

How much are you willing to pay? How much power do you need?

I sense a Fender Deluxe may suit your needs.

bassman RI

use your guitar volume/pickups to go from clean to dirty, or a TS, whatever floats your boat

if you get the deville i'd suggest a speaker/tube swap

You can keep it under a grand. If you've got some respectable music stores in the area, keep stopping by with your guitar and see what they've got in stock. The more you try, the better sense you'll have of what you want. Just remember to play in the store at the level you'd be playing at home or at rehearsal. If the store doesn't let you do that, tell them "Thank you very much. I'll take my business elsewhere."

Trust your ears. There are lots of gems to be had if you're willing to be patient and persistent.

I wouldn't really consider any music stores in my immediate area all that respectable. I have gotten a few good deals on used guitars, but for the most part the rip you off. They know they are the only stores within an hour and a half of here so they charge WAY too much for gear. I have to make a trip to Nashville or Memphis to hagve any real variety anyway.
All they really have locally is Fender, Hughes & Kettner, Line 6, Roland, and I think one store carries Ibanez. So... Not too much variety.

The Flextone III XL and Fender Deville I played locally and liked them OK, but wasn't just sold on them. I will be taking my guitar in and playing it so I know how it sounds with my gear. I will no doubt wait til I get my Yamaha before purchasing an amp. Never been a big pedal guy, but I may consider investing in a few FX along with my new amp. Right now I use a Bad Horsie 2 and Rocktron Chorus. FX though I will be going Boss with that. I like their stuff.
