Any opinions on Guild Bluesbird or Blues 90?

Hi all:

Any opinions out there on the Guild Bluesbirds the with Duncan Humbuckers (not sure which ones) or Blues 90 with Duncan P90s? Seems like the used ones might be a good deal.

Thanks

The pre-buyout ones are supposed to be superb.

Those are the chambered-body ones, aren't they? Those are supposed to be friggin' sweet from the reviews I've read.

You are talking the newer style Bluesbirds I am assuming? I like them a lot, I recently played a new Goldtop version and it was very nice. A little different than an LP, didn't realize they were chambered but that would explain the weight.

Yeah, the last of the Guild RI, ones. The Bluesbird size and weight are what makes it attractive to me. Larger than a Les Paul, but hollowed-out, so lighter (about 7 pounds). That's why I like the Epi Alleykat....but I really want a better quality guitar, so I'm trying to find a quality guitar in that size, weight and configuration. I been thinking of finding a used Blues 90, putting in hot mini hbs and making it a kind of Bluesfirebird Deluxe.

I had a Westerly RI made one. One of the last ones. GC was blowing them out for $599 for hte B90 and $799 for the Bluesbird. I stuipidly sold that one.

And, they're not much bigger than a les paul. But lighter for sure.

I see them going used now for 1000+ which is funny.

There were recently a couple of Blues 90s on Ebay that DIDN'T sell in the $800 to $1000 price range. If the quality stands up to a $1500 to $2000 guitar, it could be a bargain in any case.
