Does anyone here know if Seymour Duncan makes a Stratocaster single coil pickup that sound similiar to the Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster bridge pickup?

Eric Johnson used to use (maybe even still uses) DiMarzio HS-2 pickups in all 3 positions of his Strats. He used them in split mode.

As for Duncans, an Antiquity Surfer or SSL-1 should do the trick.

do you happen to know what the specs are?
I've read that each pickup in that set is different specs, but if you have some idea, we can get close.
One thing is that one of the EJ pickups, I'm not sure which, is alnico 3.

Thanks for the replies.

I haven't been able to find any detailed specifications on those pickups other than:

The bridge pickup has Alnico 5 magnets
The bridge pickups is modeled after a 50's style pickup but has been overwound to so it will be better balance gain wise with the other pickups

I think the EJ's are A5/A3/A3. Even after playing the EJ, I still thought that if I bought it, I'd yank the pickups and replace them with Surfers with Surfer Custom Bridge. Buy one of those sets, and hang onto it. Put it in whatever strat you own, and it's guaranteed to sound great.

In the EJ Strat thte neck and middle pickups are Alnico III and the bridge is Alnico 5, the specs say it's overwound but it 's not really all that hot. Imnot sure what the DC is but it didn't sound all that hot to me. I would think that a Surfer or even a plain old SSL-1 would get you VERY close to the EJ bridge pickup.

Thanks for all of the replies. Based on all of the rave reviews of the Surfers on this forum, I'm going to have to buy a set of Surfers. It sounds like the Surfers have all of the sparkly, chimey, and quacky qualities as well as a fairly hot bridge pickup for distortion, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully these pickups live up to the hype.

I've used alot of different single coil pickups from different companies and hands down the Surfers are the best! If you want all the vintage chime and overall great tone and a cool "vibe",then you'll love the Surfers! :13:
