Anybody know bout an Ibanez RG350dx?

I'm looking at one of these for a good backup and main guitar maybe. Equal use. They look sooo freakin beautiful and from what I read are steady guitars. I would be changing the pickups eventually so I don't care bout those too much. Anybody?

I had one, it was great to look at but it was a horrible guitar. I got rid of it within 2 weeks I believe.

The trem was un-usable. The body was resonatly dead so leads sounded flat and lifeless. The neck was way to thin, and the frets were way to tall.

Given all that, it did have nice finish and look good... The stock electronics wern't bad either. It's not worth $400 though, maybe $200.

Wow, sounds like you got a lemon! Most of the people I know that have played and owned em said the opposite. The trem though, I can believe....but I'm blocking it anyways. Only need to go down....not up.

See if you know someone who will loan you one for a few days.

I liked it when I 1st got it but after awhile I completely hated that guitar. I don't think my wrist and hands have ever hurt that bad.

Yeah, they do have a pointy neck, that's for sure. I have a student with a white ibanez and the neck on that thing is crazy.

IMO any low end ibanez isnt worth getting.

i'd have to agree with Mephis on this.
I did try one. like he said, it looks good but plays awful. especially the the bridge. i usually dun pull up the whammy just do dive bombs. and that thing went outta tune pretty quickly.

neck wise i think its just ok, not too good and not too bad. but its definitely not something u want as your main or backup axe. with that, u would need another backup one for it.

for ibanez, stick with only MIJ ones, most MIK ones are really just bad, IMO.

I think a used rg570 is a much better choice. I got one from GC for $200

Definitely shop for a used MIJ RG if you're looking for the Ibanez vibe.

The RG 350DX is a great guitar. I wish they had made something like that for the price back in the day. Still a good throw around axe. For the money it's a freaking steal.

i believe MIJ ones are from the RG 470 and up (eg, 550, 570, prestige)

The RG 350DX is a great guitar. I wish they had made something like that for the price back in the day. Still a good throw around axe. For the money it's a freaking steal.

I don't like arguing when it isn't warrented, but you didn't even point out any qualities of the guitar...

IMO The best thing anyone could get for a backup guitar would be an abusable MIM double fat strat. Alot better quality guitar IMO... My MiM tele has been through alot of **** and it's damn near indestructable.

even if you could get your hands on a jackson performer series (MIJ as well but out of production already though), they're slightly more expensive but they play very well. and stays in tune too

Good for you. I hate fenders. I've always liked the way Ibanez looked. They feel great. Their light weight. Not exactly tone monsters. But great feeling and playing guitars. Do with it what you will when you get it. It's a great canvas to start with. FWIW I'd never buy one now. I said back in the day. Meaning when I was 18. I have my dream guitars now. No need for cheapies.

I concur....don't waste your time even taking a dump on something under the RG550's. The trems are really quite terrible.

A used RG550's probably a better pick.

I was going to reccomend this one. I used to have one. They play great, and have a fast neck. I sold her just a few months ago. I never used the Floyd. She sold on Ebay for about $230.

played a gig with a friends 350.. suffice to say it wouldnt need much more, before i trashed it completely.
talking about a piece of ****.

another friend of mine has a japan 470 and it is a much better guitar.. though it has the same crappy trem, that wont take a whole lot of abuse. though the diference was night and day

My 2nd guitarist had one of these before he got his hellraiser. I personally didn't like it at all. The sound was okay but I hated the way it played. The neck is way too flat and the frets are extremely tall. It definately hurt the fingers more than other guitars. Get yo self an ESP son
