Re: anybody rocking out on a VHT?
Haven't tried a Sig:X yet but it's been unofficially billed as a cheaper alternative to the Ultra Lead. I'm not sure whether VHT would make an amp like that personally since Fryette isn't a stupid man (a cheaper UL would hinder the sales of a genuine UL), but from the clips i've heard, it's got all the VHT tonal characteristics.
(* allow for You Tube compression in the clips below).

Man, i'd love to hear a really TOP level player with insane technical control (especially dynamics) play through a VHT. The player in those clips doesn't suck or anything, but it's 1 of those amps which just lends itself to awesome playing. Kinda like Elmwoods & Soldanos in that respect. The better the player = the better the amp sounds. Needless to say i make a VHT sound like an MG30! Ha ha.
I don't like the amount of knobs on the Sig X either. It's like the Mark IV- you'd need a year to dial in your perfect tone. A little bit overkill for me, although i know people who love the added permutations.
The UL has the most amount of controls i'd like on my amp (including the 6-band EQ option).
I'm curious to hear the new Unearth album "The March" if they mixed the Deliverance and Pittbull (UL ?). I'll have a listen in the local Virgin (they have listening posts).
