Anyone done livewireHMs vs EMG81?

I would like to know the differences please. Because I currently an EMG81 fiend and I'm really straying away from Duncans. I kinda feel like a traitor, but if these livewires are better I'll give them a try. Anyone that has clips of them both doing the same rythms and solos would be kick ass.

I've had a guitar with two 81s (actually, several different guitars, same pickups) for the passed 7 years, so I know that sound. I played a Charvel Model A (stock with two Livewires) in a local shop for about an hour. While I can't get quite as specific as you're asking, I will say stick with the EMGs. The Livewire kicks ass in the bridge, but I found it totally worthless in the neck. I know that neither of these are intended to get a killer clean tone, but the Livewire's clean makes the 81's clean sound as good as a 59 or Jazz.

Have you tried the 18 volt EMG mod yet?
