The first time I came across a Wiggy in a shop, I plugged a guitar in out of curiosity. I remember being impressed with the range of tones the amp could deliver.
I watched Dweezil Zappa's little demonstration video on Peavey's site and thought some of the tones he demo'ed were good, some not that impressive, some downright unuseable.
I came across a second one in another shop and plugged in. I was able to get a few decent tones, and discovered the tone controls have a very wide range - wide enough to be capable of delivering some unpleasant tones when cranked to extremes. The bass gets all loose and farty if you crank it up when you've got some gain going. It sounds decent if you pull it back. I think for bottom heavy, down-tuned stuff, the 5 band graphic might work better for adding some bass.
Anyone else have any thoughts on the Wiggy's tone?
