Anyone ever seen something like this before?

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

I remember a 6/12 doubleneck Ibanez back in the 80's but nothing like that.

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

that's kind of cool.... Not the greatest idea for a double neck... unless you are changing tunings on each neck you could just play everything on a single 7 string guitar...

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

A 7 all detuned and wacky for chugging chords etc and a standard for shredville? That's awesome!

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

I've been to East Coast Music Mall and they're good people, if anybody decides to snag it, I'm sure they'll have a great buying experience.

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

Very sexy, but the seven should be tremed as well. But with different tunings on both necks that could be awesome(C# and A could rock)

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

The weird thing to me is that it has the old style square neck joints, but it says it was made in 2000...

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

Mmmm, I could definitely go for one of those... I'd probably end up converting the 7-string neck to a 5-string banjo though... eh. Worse things have happened.

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

That had to have some out of the LA custom shop me thinks.

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

It's one of those guitars I've only ever heard about, never seen one for sale until now. Those who follow e-bay know that East Coast is a genuine seller.

Surprised it hasn't been snapped up by Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett or similar, but hey they probably have one already!

LMAO. I was gonna post when I looked at the pics.."my local shop has one of these".. I then looked at the seller.

I will say this. ECMM are good folk.

I will also say the thing WEIGHS A FRIGGIN TON. So be aware of that.

I played it twice. I found it pretty dead sounding. Then again, I find most newer Ibanez guitars..and generally most guitars with Floyds, dead sounding.

Its in real good shape for the most part, but I had no idea it was that expensive.

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

I think Ed Roman had one on his web site- I saw it at other placs as well, but it is rare- I think it went for $1499 though

Re: Anyone ever seen something like this before?

I'm trying to track down one of these crazy double-neck SG-type guitars I saw the dude from Boris playing in some picture...one neck is a six-string guitar, the other a four-string bass. I'd be all over that.

That or a six-string baritone on one neck and a four-string bass on the other. Mmmmm.
