I am considering getting a set of Bill Lawrence 450's or 490's for my Epiphone Dot. I am torn between these or perhaps a set of Seth Lovers. I have never had a chance to play these particular Lawrence models and am thinking they may be good for a single typs Brian Setzer sound, which I like quite a bit, but I also love the sound of the old vintage humbucking tone that the Seth's have just as much if not more. I have tried a 59n in a Les paul and thought it was a bit bass heavy. Being that it is a hollow body,I don't want to have to keep swapping pickups in and out as it is too much of a pain. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Clucker.

I had an AS-100 (Ibanez 335-like with ebony fingerboard) and
a Seth in the neck was perfect. Had all the bluesy-jazz
vibe going with some extra complexity in the highs due to it
being unpotted. The downside of not being potted is pick
clicking if you hit the pickup and microphonic feedback. In
all honesty, I played loud enough to be getting feedback
and never had the dreaded squeel of microphonic feedback,
so you need to be LOUD for this to be a problem.
I can't say anything about Seth in the bridge. I had a JB
in the bridge (with series/parallel and phase switch) and
it was a pretty versatile setup. The blended tones were
particularly nice.
I also had Bill Lawrence HB in a fake LP ages ago and they
sounded delicious. The neck was with screws and the bridge
was a blade, but these models were 20 years ago. If I could
get as much information about BL pickups as Duncan or
Dimarzio I would certainly consider them again.

Those are a few of the Bill Lawrences I have not tried. The ones I have tried are Outstanding so, I am sure these will be the same way!!! I woudlnt hesitate to try them myself!
BTW, I didnt really like Seths all that much at all!
