Anyone here do top-down mixing regularly?

Re: Anyone here do top-down mixing regularly?

Just leave the preset to flat or custom preset that lets you do the bass/mid/treble to the system and mix to reference tracks.

I had something like that in mind once I started running clean direct to one channel while another channel had my racked tone. I could dial in the "inspirational tone" and play my heart out, then go back to the clean track and apply a tone that works with the drums and bass better. Of course the more time I spend doing that, the more I find I need to spend with getting better drum mixes, which I know jack-sprat about, so that means YouTube searches.

But things being what they've been the last couple or so years, and having several different and equally expensive hobbies/distractions, and having the attention span of a squirrel, I've got more things on back burners than a taco truck.

I'd be happy to help out with your drum mixes. I'm at the point where guitar sounds that work in the mix best are more inspirational and satisfying to me and guitar sounds that most guitarists find instantly gratifying (too much gain, too much bass) just piss me off.

Currently in the long, slow process of moving, but once I actually get that done and get all my crap set up again (hopefully before the end of the year ) I'll definitely drop you a line about it - thanks :beerchug:
