Anyone here make pre-wired tele control plates?

I'm not the most technically skilled solder guy, and am in need of a tele control plate. I recently bought a phat cat neck pickup, and a tapped quarter pounder bridge pickup. I was hoping someone sells a wired plate with the correct switch, pots, and caps to get the guitar up, and running. I'm assuming I will need a push pull for the 1/4 pounder, or maybe a 4 way switch to tap the pickup..This is my first tele, so I don't know what the normal popular switching options are..Any advice, or info will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Anyone here make pre-wired tele control plates?

I will gladly do it for you (for a price obviously). You'd pay for the parts and I'd recommend 2 500K pots, one being a push pull to tap the 1/4 pounder. You say what type of tone control wiring you want. 3 way, 4 way, or 5 way? You know the standard 3 way, 4 way has an extra setting for a series combination of the bridge and neck pickups, and the way I wire 5 ways into my teles is:

1. Bridge
2. Bridge + Neck in parallel
3. Neck
4. Neck with tone cap
5. Bridge and neck in series

Tell me if you're interested.

I would just take your lumps as far as price and get a prorfessional harness . I can recommend "kgsales" off ebay. I met this guy, and he's no joke , no offense intended , but this guy is a pro, not some wet behind the ears teenager goofing around with a soldering iron, and sorry, but thats just a fact.
He is Nasa certifed and has done soldering work on the Space shuttle with spec miltary soldering work, and he's now disabled, and I was real lucky to find him in San antonio , meet him personally and take him some work and he did a few pieces for me that are exemplaray. I wouldnt skimp on this kind of stuff if I werer you, it aint worth it. There woudlnt be that much of a savings if you cheaped oout and hired some kind of amateur.

Not sure if I'm missing out on an inside joke based on the replies..I've got a few pm's with offers, but would like to have a few options..Metal Maniac, are you calling out someone in particular? I don't get on the forum much anymore, so not sure if you are joking around..

Haha nothing to serious myaccount is 15 years old. Well atleast he says he is. Some think he is to wise for the sweet age of 15.

He claims to have facial hair but i think he is making that up. As for his soldering skills i think he will do a great job. Plus he will work for 3 dollars an hour.

Lol $3 an hour, sure; I charge less than a lot of people, but I don't like getting payed in dirt haha (unless the dirt has shiny stones). I shaved recently (I miss my beard), and there is a picture of me holding my cat on the forum somewhere if you can it. I am at least very young if people don't believe me about my age. :D

If MM doesn't want me to talk about him I'll be happy to comply with any wishes he has and edit this part out, but I will say he is very generous and a guy I enjoy having around on the forum.

I have him soldering in my basement there is a slot in the door I slide Mountain Dew and chainstore pizza through. Send all the work you need done he can handle it.

Re: Anyone here make pre-wired tele control plates?

Acme Guitar Works does pre-wired control plates and even full guitar configurations that are also solderless to boot. I have one in my strat, going on 5 years, and have had zero problems with the quality of Mr. Ellison's company.

LOL. I think he would prefer diet coke instead.

MY876,

Next time you wire something up - post some pics. Probably would put my wiring to shame.

I personally like gut shots, but I've seen harnesses that looked so pretty they look like they should be on display, not in a guitar.

Re: Anyone here make pre-wired tele control plates?

Man I can't quote all the things I have to reply to, so I'll just number my thoughts haha:

1. I can grow facial hair, but no where near facial hair like a Lebanese man/Itsabass's beard/ZZ Top.

2. Supreme pizza or good ole pepperoni is good, preferably Papa Johns, but I HATE Mountain Dew, and my mom drinks Diet Coke. Give me jack and (regular) coke. I won't tell anyone. ;)

3. I will indeed post a gut shot then! Though it'd have to be new pots, because I always use pots I find around, and we all know how some people (not me, I use as little as possible because I can barely afford solder) love to put on a pound of solder on the back of a pot. So much a soldering wick isn't going to do anything. I have to heat the solder completely to a liquid, and then hit the pot on the bench to splash the solder off.

4. Again, I hate Mountain Dew. They honestly taste like piss. No joke. Same with energy drinks, but worse. If I need caffeine, I drink this:

Yes it is real coffee that exists and I've had it lol.
