Anyone here of Golden Age pickups?

Re: Anyone here of Golden Age pickups?

Should of done some research first, just found out they are sold by Stew-Mac. Anyone like the single coils?

Re: Anyone here of Golden Age pickups?

Good pups, much better than most stock, and a great value for the budget-conscious. Had one of their PAF replicas in my Strat's bridge (oddly enough, 'twas in Fender phase and spacing) and really liked it. Solid construction, durable. Still, they're like modeling amps: enough of the sound and feel are there to make you happy, but there's something missing.

But then, I can't hear the difference between brass and nickle-silver baseplates -- much less between different battery brands in my effects! -- so what do I know? lol

I have one of their HB's in the neck lot of a V; sounds pretty good. I think they're made by Schaller.

Re: Anyone here of Golden Age pickups?

Really Schaller?

No, they're made in Korea with american wire, most probably Artec.

I have a Hot set of their Strat single coils in my PRS SE EG sounding really great in this guitar, even though the same p'ups didn't sound very well in a Squier Std strat. Go figure!

I don't actually own any HBs, but I've installed'em by the dozens in my customer's guitars and even though they're no Duncans, they sound quite well, all things considered.

HTH,
