It's not stereo if combined back into one cab, unless it's like a Marshall 1960AV that's wired for 2x2 stereo at 8ohms.
When I ran stereo, I did it with two separate cabs and only did it when using modulation, like a subtle chorus where I could use the delay time to control the width of the sound. Then it sounded like two guitars, fat beefy and wide.
I quickly abandoned it because only someone within 6 feet could appreciate the depth. Farther out in the room it just started to sound like mud.

This depends on if the PA is stereo (many places only run it in mono). I use the L & R outs of my Fractal to the PA, which sounds wonderful in the IEMs. The live recordings I've heard sound really good, too. I don't think I would do stereo for conventional amps, as I am not carrying that much gear to any gig.

Exactly. That was my way to go too during 2000s. Marshall vs Laney slapped in two with a stereo chorus into two completely different cabs. It was heavy and wide by all the means with definition that is hard to describe. I did not run them amps hot or loud. It was not necessary. They filled the space with waves like there was no tomorrow, regardless of stage, around half the power each. This mismatched twin was ready to play in 5 minutes.
My spine said to stop using that around 2010. I can't lift those weights anymore. Now I use a single half-stack when I play with bands with roadie crew and use cab sim DI or a superlight open-back 1x12" and EHX pocket amp when I travel alone or without helping hands.

Very briefly, in the early 80s. We fired the drummer, and the other guitarist took over on drums. I used my Ibanez stereo chorus pedal to hook up my Twin running into a Sonic 4x12 and his early 70s 50 watt NMV Marshall into a Marshall 4x12. Did one gig with that rig, killer!
Then the Marshall head blew, and that was the end of that.

Used to run a Carvin X amp half with a Randall RG-120es half using an old Alesis Quadraverb to split the signal. It sounded OK but seemed to suck tone. Didn't seem to hurt it too bad for thrash/death metal though.

I did it for a couple of gigs back in the '90s, with stereo chorus and a stereo reverb/delay. Really trippy, but a PITA to transport and set up. I also tried bi-amping, which created a guitar tone with massive bottom end and a sound image of the guitar about 15' wide. Fun, but again not practical.
I could see using a Mesa Road King which allows you to select one of four channels and pre-set the output of each channel to a different power amp configuration with a choice tubes, rectifier, and power level....all into the option of Cabinet A or B. That's as complicated as I would want to get these days.

2 amps one cab. Dirty sounds split between an ADA-MP-1 and ADA power amp on one side of a Marshall 412 and a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier on the other and just the ADA for cleans. Really nice blend and sounds sweet in venues with the band.

The thought of using one cab for two heads sounds pretty rad... do those Marshalls have some kind of center divider to isolate the two sets of speakers? I could load it with Swamp Thangs and run the Model T on one side and the Matamp on the other....

Yeah it can run in mono or stereo and in stereo I can have one amp per side using 2 speakers each. When I can, I get one mic per side and have it summed in mono.

no, was only on about 2 or 3. but was pretty loud in the house.. fun!!! usually don't get to push much air..

Tried it before. Sounded cool but didn't find it was worth the extra effort.
I have been thinking about trying it again with a pair of Rectoverb 25 combos.
Always thought it looked pretty sweet when I'd see a pair of Fender combos behind someone, and a pair of small combos are easier to move than my head/cab.
