NO, I DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT CARVIN AMPS.
NO, I DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT CARVIN AMPS.
yEAH, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BUILD QIALITY. nO OFFENSE, BUT i'VE SEEN vAIS CARVINS BLOW UP ONSTAGE.( sorry caps)
Peaveys are going to be Chinese unless you get one of the expensive numbered ones. They're good amps, but if you don't need hi-gain, that's that.
.
Was vIAS CARVINS upset at the drummer?
ok I this seems to be way better information then I have been seeing. its kinda funny cause usually when someone says anything bad about any of the carvin amps I ask what amp have they owned and their response is " oh I would never own a piece of crap amp." when I ask why they feel that way it turns into something like, " well my uncles friends nephew knew this guy who had one." if its just the fear of haven't to commit to try on out I get it. I have been that way myself heck I have bought 3 amps and carvins was always in the mix but I always opted for what I could try, and boy that hasn't turned out very good. I gotta a peavey vypyr that every now and then will feeze and I have to reboot it (yes I said reboot an amp) then I got my blackstar that will die on stage once ever 4 to 8 weeks then the next morning work fine (supposedly fixed now) and know I have a jcm 205h and a laney 2x12 cab which I love but I want to get rid of the blackstar combo and get another head, so I guess with my experience I need to try carvin. know the question is which one. the legacy 3 looks cool but is it like most signature amps where it doe the artist tone and that's it? or is it very flexible where tone is concerned? I see the v3 is very versitle but it may have a lot of stuff I wont use and I have heard they are hard to dial in, the x100b seems very good for certain styles bt don't know if it has enough gain for some of the styles I need to cover
lol my post count in this thread is ridiculous for an amp I don't own.
Excuse me, I have to switch back to photoshop to finish up my Carvin tattoo I'm gonna get as a tramp stamp.
Glaze suggestion: Carvin Whore.
The V3 is a brittle high gain, and ALOT of gain on tap. Like previously mentioned, Mesa Rec territory, or maybe Hughes and Kettner Warpish. It's got a quartet of EL84 power tubes which don't add a tremendous amount of color.
Ye$ he doe$
I am all about guitar hero gear (I have Paul Gilbert's pups) but you have to take most reviews and endorsements from famous peeps with a grain of salt.
Sorry to jack the thread but I thought Peavy was USA made (I am talking about the 6500 series)?
FWIW I have generally heard good things about Carvin as value tube amps.
H&K Warp is solid state. Awesome amp.
