Anyone notice or has tried the new Mullard RI short plate 12AX7's?

I was just browsing through what's available at the tubestore site and noticed the short plate versions of the mullard reissue 12AX7 from new sensor/sovtek. The description gives the idea of this tube being warmer than the tungsol ri but also better sounding in a way.

I have the the long plate mullard ri's, like those alot for durability over the tungsol ri's, but i do wish they were a little different sounding. These short plate versions might be different sounding enough to grab pair to keep around or use.

Has anyone tried these or using them? How reliable have they been?

I have seen them. But have not tried one. I don't much care for the regular ecc83ri either. Works decent as a PI. Sounds absolutely nothing like an old original mullard.

Yea they probably never will be able to recreate the NOS tungsol, mullard, etc. I heard there is a Telefunken reissue out there now, haven't checked though.

But i have to say for current production tubes, the tungsol ri does sound better than most present production tubes in many different amps. If new sensor has improved it further and come out with the short plate mullard ri series then that would really interesting. Sadly i can't check one out myself anytime soon.

I'm guessing it's a less bright TS, I'm not gonna hold my breath for the OG Mullard midrange though.

I have been wondering about them along with the TS 7581.
