Anyone played a Washburn WM526?

I dont know why, but I have been lusting for one every since they came out. I am barely cutting it as a hack blues player, I sure dont have any shred chops.. And they are made just for burning.. I guess it is cuz they are different and I have been very happy with my special US Washburns..

I wish I could play one.. Anyone have any input??

Not the WM526 but the Asian made V one, these things feel SUPER fast and I'm betting the USA ones even more so!

The Randal pus in the Asian ones are only so-so (kinda one trick ponies) and the hardware is not high-end quality but still decent and works just fine. They also feel pretty solidly built (apart from the usual Asian thick poly that kinda makes them feel like toys).

BTW, the poly coat think is NOT bashing them, my Michael Kelly Patriot has that poly finish as well and although she kidna feels like that (not feels as in when playing mind you!) still is probably my best sounding guitar acoustically (the Swing still is the winner though when amplified).

Plus, I'm pretty sure none of this would apply with the USA made ones :)

I want one BADLY after today!! I played the import version for the first time today for quite a while and it was a scorcher. The neck was super fast and the composite board felt GREAT!! I'm absolutely in love with that neck on that guitar. In person it looked much better than the photos + sounds really nice. I can only speculate on how good the USA Customs must be!!

Yeah, thats what I was afraid of.. I figure I dont need a shred beast like that, but since I know what kind of amazing guitars washburn can do, I figure this is prob unreal.. I take gear reviews with a grain of salt, but Paul Rario's sp?) review was awesome.. Not ness what he had to say, but seeing the guitar go thru its paces.. I just wish I could freakin play like that!
Im kinda guessing that the Michael Kelly Hex was inspired by it and its a pretty sweet player . Emgs etc

Ive been trying to figure what I should sell to get one.. Then I tell myself, I dont need a shred guitar..
I didnt think the import had the composite board... whats the neck shape like??

The 09's are composite. The Neck profile is slim and super fast like the old Carvins of the late 80's-early 90's. The board is flat and the one I played was set up to perfection.
Jon over at Funky Munky has done several in White with Duncans. THAT is what I want!!! The import I played today was better that any USA Jackson I have played since the 90's!! And that was just the bolt on import cheapie not the big dog USA!!!
I didn't think much of these from the photos until I actually picked this one up and played it today. Scary good guitars!

Bryan, you missed my post, bad boy...

The Randals like I said were kind of a one-trick-pony, they do the Michael-Angelo Batio thing perfectly (remember how he used to be a Washburn endorser playing the MG-44/MG-100?) but not much beyond that. They're totally shred-oriented and will fall short if you try to do anything else with them (much less try to play sth "clean")...

$290 SHIPPED on a BIN but is last years model with a rosewood board and fixed bridge.
