Anyone tried the SSL-3Ts?

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Saw a guitar with SSL-3Ts and wondered if anyone's tried them? What did you think of them? Looked online and couldn't find barely anything on them. I wonder if they sound like buckers when they're not tapped. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

They sound like fat single coils, but not humbuckers.

What Mincer say. And SD does the tap on the wrong place. I think an overwound pickup has a point where it is rightly wound in relation to the mag strenght, say abour 4/5 or something. This is the point where you get a useful second sound. SD just take the middle of the winding and you get wimpy sound in the bridge.

I love the sound of tapped QP in the bridge. If that had tapped even 2/3 it would be too much for vintagey sound from that pickup. Even if that's not the aim I suspect it wouldn't give at all enough difference.
