Anyone tried the zer0 glide nut?

I saw one of those on a guitar at one of the shops the other day. Seemed like a neat idea the nut has a zero fret that attaches to it so it's easily reversible. It comes with 3-4 different sized frets to adjust the action how you like. I looked them up and they claim to make intonation better the guitar easier to play and make the strings sound more balanced.
I can see the strings being more balanced. From what little bit I tried it it seemed to sound good. I can see where it's not for everyone or every guitar though. The only reason I am looking at one is the nut slots on the Taylor I just got are cut way too low. The space between the fret and string is about half the thickness of a sheet of paper.
Around here techs don't like to set stuff up any other way but how it plays good to them.

I try to wrap my mind around what a zero fret does...tried to read up on it and still draw a blank lol

The one thing I noticed was the open strings sounded more like the fretted ones. They all had a slightly brighter sound. The sound did seems to balance out some I guess it's from the strings resting on the zero fret. I kind of understand them some I had one of the 2015 LP juniors that had the brass nut with built in zero fret. It had a slight chime and jangle to the open strings.
