Anyone use a Bone pick?

Moonsorrow

Recently bought a Bone pick (Pickboy) just to try and see if i liked it....i did, very much so in fact! I doubt i will use anything but Bone from now on,wish i would have tried one sooner. I play everything from Blues to Metal and it just works for me. Who else in here digs Bone picks?

Re: Anyone use a Bone pick?

I used a rosewood and an ebony one before... Rather stupid concept and a waste of money.

Metal vs. Wood - Flawless victory.

Bone might be interesting.

Yeah i saw some nice looking Rosewood picks but i figured they wouldn`t last long at all!

Re: Anyone use a Bone pick?

I'm up for it.

Where did you get yours?

Can't justify spending more than 40 cents on something that will likely be lost in the car, a seat cushion, or at a friend's place within the week.

The worst ones are the Dunlop Ultex picks . . . they're kinda yellowish and translucent . . . act like chameleons when you drop them on any surface. There must be 50 of them ninjaing their way through my house right now.

Oh god, yes. I use the Ultex 1.14mm Sharps (and LOVE their feel and tone) but those things disappear the second they come out of your hand. We have really busy carpet in the jam room which makes it impossible to find a dropped Ultex without a full practice stoppage, a divining rod, and trained hounds.

OMG! I special ordered a pack of 24 of those lately because I lose so many!

Re: Anyone use a Bone pick?

man i seldom lose picks. i bought a new pack of my green tortex picks two years ago and havent even opened it. i wear picks out way more than i lose them.

i like those ultex sharp .90 too. other people must lose them alot cause ive never bought them but seem to find them at lots of my gigs on the stage from the night before. i probably got five or six of em

Same here, I don't lose that many, really.

I can wear those ****ers out fast, though.

Re: Anyone use a Bone pick?

That's actually my primary complaint about the Ultex.

They're grippy in your fingers and smooooth across the strings, but AFAIK they're also supposed to be super-durable.

I buy the Sharps, but they sure don't stay sharp for very long for me.

From a nasty stage floor? I hope you did something to kill off the bacteria colonies growing on those picks. Geez.
