I have em in two of my strats...Your strat won't ever really do the Tele bridge position thing,but nice pickups..Pretty beefy,slightly more mids than a stock single coil..More agressive on the attack..Don't know how else to explain,but this and the SSL5/6 are my favorite strat bridge single coils.

Haven't had one fitted for a while, but it adds a 'Tele-ish' twang and beef to the Strat bridge tone. I always loved it using a medium, crunchy gain setting. Very addictive.

I have the Twangbanger in several Stratocasters of varying price. IMO, the pickup delivers a sound that is basically beefed up Strat with strong hints of Tele and P90. I happen to like this but it is no substitute for a Tele, Broadcaster or Nocaster.

Eggs Actly. Nice growl. More output and more mids than a stock Strat bridge pickup.
Maybe without the middle pickup it would sound more like a Tele. I have a Duncan Custom Shop '53 Tapped Tele pickup in my Strat, and it didn't really start to sound like a Tele until I removed the middle pickup.

It's very close in published specs to the DiMarzio Red Velvet, except the Twang Banger is A2 and the Red Velvet is A5. DiMarzio even claims they have a "growl" in their product description. I'd expect a growl simply on account of their hot wind and base plate. Based on specs alone, I'd sooner go for the option that has A5s.

I have a set of the Red Velvets in a Strat, and I get the feeling they call it "velvet" because the highs are punchy, but the high-highs are soft like cotton, and not Strat like at all. Overall it's another "hot rod" Strat pickup that clearly trades in highs for a fatter middle. It seems like that DiMarzio's specialty.
I'm interested in the lower output True Velvets. I bought the Red Velvets before I understood just how much high end is inevitably lost from an 8.5k wind on a Strat bobbin. Trial and error.

Excellent pickup combo there. Had it in a Hamer Daytona. Just used stock 5 way switch wiring though - nothing fancy.
The Twangbanger is a terrific Strat bridge pickup - although it won't make your Strat sound like a Tele.
It is a favorite Strat bridge pickup of mine though.
