Anyone use/d rotosound strings

Re: Anyone use/d rotosound strings

Do they seem similar to Ernie Balls? I've heard in England, the two are made in the same factory.

Re: Anyone use/d rotosound strings

I used them on my bass a couple of times back when I played. I wasn't very impressed with the bass strings they make....more expensive than GHS, and didn't last nearly as long.

I have not tried their guitar strings.

I had a set of elixers, rotos, and then a set of Ernies, (the green pack) didn't care for them. I felt the difference. Didin't really like the elixers either. The elixers felt good, but the tone seemed muffled.
I guess you gotta go with what feels good to you, just wondering if anyone likes them or not.

I agree completely. I've not used Rotosounds, but have been curious about them.

Re: Anyone use/d rotosound strings

have 'em in my Highway1 strat- has similar brightness to the EB but not as crisp.

my 2 firm favs are: GHS Boomers/ D'Addario

Re: Anyone use/d rotosound strings

I've used the 66 Swing Bass strings on my T-Bird occasionally. I don't really like them on the Jazz or the G&L.

Re: Anyone use/d rotosound strings

never tried their guitar strings but their flatwound bass strings are the only ones id use, best sounding flats ive heard besides pyramid

Re: Anyone use/d rotosound strings

Acually i LOVE rotosounds , i use them in my main strat , recently i switched to Ernie Balls and i was dissapointed:(
Ernie balls was too bright and had sharp attack , lacked warmness and fullness of sound.
And Rotosound are great for me - i do lots of bends and they bend like butter:) , and the tone itself is warm , round and full not too sharp and not too greasy.
"Just perfect" at least to my tastes
