Re: Anyone use those Hum Eliminators?
The Ebtech hum eliminator has worked for us in the past, in our old church building. We just moved to a new building, and have yet to iron out ALL the noise issues, but it's basically a quiet system now, and I can't find the hum eliminator. One thing I found strange about it is that it seemed to work differently sometimes, like depending on how you powered up. And sometimes it would make a larger hum, but then if you unplugged the 1/4" and plugged it back in, it would kill the hum. Almost like it needed to re-detect the hum or something. I don't know how they work, so maybe I'm an idiot and that was just the result of dirty contacts. But it seemed to be more than that. It seemed to change the hum elimination if you unplugged/plugged. It's one of those voodoo devices that I don't want to understand. But it definitely can work very well, but it probably depends on the source/type of your noise.
