Re: Anyone using a Splawn Quickrod?

I want one so bad! I've been looking at them for some time. I heard one live once, Stephen Pearcy's guitar player. It did the Ratt/Warren D thing very well. I believe they're the best hot rodded Marshall type you can buy. I'll hear one in a club here in my town in a few weeks. A distant friend has one and his band is playing. Then I'll decide. The wife says go for it and I have the money set aside! The clips are great and the reviews are good!

Re: Anyone using a Splawn Quickrod?

I was just rocking on mine at band practice. Well, it was a little bit ago, since our drummer got locked in the bathroom somehow :chairfall

I love mine, it does the high gain thing very well.

Any specific questions?

Re: Anyone using a Splawn Quickrod?

I had one of the early versions for a short time.

Great amp, but WAY more than I needed. Even on 1/2 power, it was fairly brutal....and it didn't work well with my Weber MASS.

Also, a bit of a 1-trick pony, but it worked the crap out of that trick.

They now no longer share EQs, so you can set it up a little better than the version I had...and I think he added another gear(or I might be thinking of another Splawn).

Super nice guy to talk to too, BTW :beerchug:

Re: Anyone using a Splawn Quickrod?

I love my QuickRod and I find that when it comes to high gain rock tones they just can't be beat!!! I have the newer version with the separate clean channel and it takes a Ts-9 really well, so I use that or my volume control to get lighter tones.

The solo boost is the best, it really pushes you out front!!!!
