Approx value of 1984 JCM 800 2205? PV Ultra Plus?

Re: Approx value of 1984 JCM 800 2205? PV Ultra Plus?

Sorry to hear that BR, but I can identify with some of it. My wife of 15 years asked for a divorce 6 years ago and I just walked away from the house and everything and still trying to get on my feet again and I lost my job the same month the D was final and had to hustle for a while. Lots of other stuff involved that has help me to NOT be able to get back to "stable" or whatever you call it. Not touting my own stuff, just saying there are a lot of people here who can identify with you! Except, I can't imagine what you're going through with your daughter!

Definitely prayers coming your way bro!

As for the brakes, what kind of car is it? Who is telling you that everything is shot? If it is Brake's Plus, take it to a local independent mechanic, they are notorious for ripping people off. You also mentioned the rotors, you can buy a set of front rotors from Autozone or some Advance for probably less than $75 and disc brakes are easy to change with just a little mechanical know-how, got any friends that tinker? Putting $1000 into a car hurts, especially with everything else going on. Anyway, I'm big on DIY on cars when I can, so it's my <$0.02. We can take this disussion offline, definitely going OT.

Thanks Bro! Sorry to hear that happened to you.. 2001 Ford taurus.. Front discs. Im pretty handy myself as long as I have the tools. I dont have what I need to hold the caliper or bleed brakes. Rotors are grooved to the point they probably cant be turned. Never used brakes plus, and wont based on what you said..

My daughter was brought in to the er where I work this morn. strung out on meth.. spent my lunch getting a marchman act for her..

Re: Approx value of 1984 JCM 800 2205? PV Ultra Plus?

Sorry to hear that, bad day... Praying for you bro.

As far as the car goes, you don't need special tools to hold he calipers, just the right wrenches to get the calipers and the rotors off. You can spread them after you pull the pads off with some channel locks or something (don't use them on the new pads). Bleeding the brakes isn't that big of a deal either, just want them assembled again and you will probably need another person. And you should be able to get the parts at Advance or Autozone for less than $200 including rotors.

Drum brakes are a little harder, can be done, but nice to have someone who knows what they are doing. Of course, they usually don't need to be changed that much, so maybe...

Sounds to me like both the females need a good straightening-out, particularly the wife if she's dumping you while the daughter is having such troubles. Doesn't matter if it's her child or not, bailing is low-down and I'd hit her with abandonment ASAP. Give the medical paperwork and vehicle repair estimate as well as the work documentation showing that's about to dry up to a lawyer and take her nice cushy salary for the next 5 years. Equal rights includes all the bad stuff, and that is exactly how it would go were the shoe on the other foot. Don't fall into the "nice guy' trap because you'll end up eating a bullet or stepping off a chair.
The daughter needs 3 months strapped down to a bed until she cleans up, then about 5 to the face to drive the point home.

Stop letting these people step on you. Push back. Hard. Put them in the hot seat and let them sweat for a change. Don't beg, issue orders. If they don't like it, make them like it. If they cry about being unhappy, tell them all about being unhappy, because chances are they don't know jack about unhappy.

LOL.. Just keeps getting better... I go to get a long overdue haircut last night after work..I thought the place I usually go closed at 8. get there 7:05. closed at 7. So, go to the salon at Walmart. 20 min later Im walking to my car and notice somebody stole the tag off my car..So, Im there another couple hours waiting for a police officer to file a report. And I dont think I mentioned the $150 speeding ticket I got last week going to Jax to get my pain pump refilled...

Wife has been on the fence.. Said she needs "space" .. Alot of the stress tween us has been caused by our daughter.. Well as far as Im concerned, she made her decision last night.. I made it for her. She went out with co workers as she often does. Last night I noticed her rings were left home.. she came in at 6 this morning.. Game over..

Re: Approx value of 1984 JCM 800 2205? PV Ultra Plus?

Hang in there man. We are all pulling for you. The thing about the big D is that since you are in it and emotions are so involved you can't see things as clearly as others looking in. Often, it is the start of a new less complicated life that is actually better. No more living lies for one thing. Everyday from now on is the first day of the rest of life. It is imperative that you maintain a positive attitude. My brother went through a nasty D a few years ago. he would have just walked away if had not been for his daughters. We had to save his daughters and put their needs above all else. But his life, and his girl's lives, are so much better now.

Find a good family law lawyer asap though. Don't move out of your own house. Take control over your personal finances and don't allow her to run up a bunch debt now that you may get stuck with later. Document everything. Don't allow her to alienate the kids from your life. Don't allow the kids to become the rope in a tug a war. Your daughter needs you more than ever right now.

If I lived anywhere close I would do the brakes on your car for you. It really is an easy diy project if you have the tools. There's probably a walk you through it on you-tube. A grand?-that's just crazy

Man...
You're a saint...I would have murdered her at best!
All the best with the kid.
And now at least you are going to get rid of that well... no good wife!

Thanks everyone!! I appreciate the support!
Lake Placid, The lease on our house is in her name.. So I have to go.. She has said she would like to leave tho, but I cant afford the rent on the place. There wont be any fights over kids, as all my kids but the one are grown and out and the house and the wife WANTs to terminate her parental rights to her because of the trouble she is in. As far a hiring a lawyer... CAnt afford one.plus, my wife is one.. so Im gonna get railroaded. But, she does seem to want to make things amicable. My only probs with everything is Im broke and up to my eyeballs in bills right now cuz of medical bills and stuff cuz my children's habits. I cant go back to Jax where we moved from as I left there owning a very large bill to the power co. There are just little negative quirks to all my options right now..
She is a difficult person, so the kids already dont like her a whole lot (the older ones except the oldest, maintain a relationship with her, but fortunately I dont have to worry about her turning the kids against me. Except back when I was working 2 and 3 jobs so she could stay home with them when they were young, and then go to law school, I have been the one that takes them to dr and all of the nurturing stuff

My father got divorced by his first wife (this was before he ever met my mom). He told me at the time he had nothing. No money, she took the car, he was between jobs. It was rough. In those days the man didn't stand a chance. They always figured the women was the victim and should get custody of any minor children almost automatically, and that the man should provide for his ex wife.

Today it is supposed to be more equitable but the system is still heavily biased against the man in practice. Were your wife is a lawyer that means that she knows how to work the system in your state. It is a little different from state to state and district to district. There are a couple of things that you should know regardless of way the system works in your local. Both partners in a divorce (especially in no fault divorce) are untitled to more or less equal standards of living post divorce. That means she shouldn't be living on snob's knob while your living under the underpass. If her income is higher than yours, then she should pay you some alimony for a few years until your back on your feet, or until you re-marry or come into a higher or equal income compared to her. (this is why she is trying to walk away from responsibility to your minor daughter: she knows she might have to pay child support and at least 1/2 of a child's therapy and rehab..ect costs). Also if the house is sold; you are untitled to 1/2 of any equity because you were a equal partner in the marriage. The same applies to marital property and assets. Whether the house is in her name or not

Right now it is very important that you not say or do anything that she may use to prejudice the court against you (anymore than it automatically is just because you are a man). That means no altercations: verbally or physically, or sexually, or emotionally. Don't even raise your voice. You must provide no excuse for her to slap a restraining order on you or to claim any type of abuse. That is the way the game is played today. It's cutthroat. The women seeks an advantage with courts by claiming your abusive and hoping a RO has been slapped on you as a matter of record.

I also own a minty Ultra + head price of $650 is a little high. My take is more in the $450-500 range.
Sorry to hear about the other stuff bro been through a lot of it myself so if you need me yell.

Re: Approx value of 1984 JCM 800 2205? PV Ultra Plus?

Thanks for the info! Yeah, its been a rough road. (whole marriage) She knows the kids are the most important thing to me, so anytime we ever talked div in the past, those were always her pawns.. She used to threaten to say I molested them or anything.. I have degenerative disc disease in my back. Used to be on hydrocodone (still am) and oxycontin.. She always used that too. Said she would claim I was a pill head or was not capable cuz of that. Although ive NEVER ever abused the meds.. For that reason, I took myself off the oxycontin. Went thru about a month of hell. sweats/chills, shakes, didnt sleep for nearly 2 months cuz my head was so squirrely. I still held down my 2 jobs during that time.. My doc couldnt believe I did it. Said normally anyone thats been on it as long as I was has to go to a facility or at least have some kind of professional management. Not long after, the implanted a pain pump in my to manage the pain. But basically I undid nearly everything she threatened to use against me.. Cause even tho she was the one that was the worse parent, I know the courts often favor mothers.. Now the kids are all grown except the one and my wife is itching to sign away her parental rights. She has pretty much said she wants to make things amicable. We will see. there is so much else I could (and would like to say... ) but Ive prolly already aired out too much dirty laundry here. Anyhow, I appreciate the info, will check it all out.. BTW, we rent our house, so that is one thing that isnt too much of a factor.. Other than the rent is in her name, so I have to move..

The div isnt really the big issue.. just that everything is happening at once.. My daughter, div, job, broke and in the hole. Plus the little things like someone just stole the lic plate off my car while I was getting a haircut.. like, Really??

On a positive note, I have rediscovered my Washburn MG130.. Other guitars trip my trigger for awhile and have me thinking they are my #1, but I go back to that Washie and it just blows my mind.. We (the mg130, the splawn and I) had about an hour of making my neighbors unhappy today.. hee hee.

Same for you brother.. Last we talked you had gotten diagnosed and were up to your eyeballs in other stuff too. I figured you had plenty of your own going on. Ive been meaning to ask how YOU have been doing.. Ill try to fire an email off to you next day or so..

On a lighter note... I keep falling back in love with that black MG you sold me... I put a brass big block on it awhile back and just got a push pull pot that Im gonna try to split the cool rails.

I'll get busy hot rodding the blue one one of these days. Still all stock.. I bought a used Ti trem block that was going to try on the blue one.
