Are all pickups signed by Seymour, wound by him?

I'm asking because this '78 model I got on ebay has his signature. I've never seen that on a CS p'up.

Maybe Frank, Evan, or Jeremy can help me out here?

What can you do about a cracked bobbin? 2 of my SDs had this same thing happen to them. Is it common?

I was talking to MJ a while back and we were talking about the signatures and I think they are only on the antiquities and seth lovers (they can be wound by MJ, Derek, or Seymour), or pickups wound by him in the custom shop have his sig on them.

Meh, seems cosmetic. The p'up works great w/o a problem. Is there anything that could be done to mend the bobbin?

If he did wind it, he gave it more zip. This one read 9.3K with the "cold" weather in L.A. The other '78s I've had all read 8.8K.

I don't know about mending it. I'm glad it sounds great. I'm a little jealous though, I looked at that pup for a day or two and was tempted to pull the trigger but the crack scared me off.

I think all Custom Shop pickups are signed by him, even when the Inlay card was signed by MJ.
I have several pickups with cracked bobbins, one is even wraped. All work great.

Not true, I have, and have had several CS Duncans that were NOT signed by Seymour...

I was ticked cuz I was trying not to rub it off when putting the stupid pup rings on them
