Are blade switches any more reliable or durable than toggle switches?

Re: Are blade switches any more reliable or durable than toggle switches?

I've never had a problem with either, as long as they are good quality switches to start with. I've had those cheap in-line enclosed 5 way switches fail, as well as imported toggles, but that is actual mechanical failure (when I opened up the guitars, pieces of the switchs were scattered along the cavity in both cases!). I don't think it matter which one you use, just get a good one.

I've had intermittent failures of the toggle switches on a few import guitars. My other cheap toggles - and the Switchcraft on my USA Jackson - have been fine. I don't remember any problems with blade switches, though I tend to switch them out whenever I'm doing work in the control cavity. I'll use a Superswitch for versatility or the Fender style when I want something simple.
