Nail on the head buddy, i hate me turd bucket!MikeRocker said:Many moons ago, when I first started playing guitar, I owned a Crate guitar amp and then a Crate keyboard amp. Both developed serious defects after not much rigorous use. I also worked in a guitar store that carried Crate, and one day some hot new model they had been hyping came in. We plugged it in, no sound. Turned it around, the speakers had somehow crashed out of the wood frame. We had a saying: "Crate - aptly named." Also, it seems like whenever amps include digital effects, it's just a gimmick. I second the opinion that money is better spent on a good sounding amp with no digital effects (analog overdrive and reverb are good). Add pedals later.
Check the backlines of major touring musicians - any of them using Crate? Doubt it!!!

Good choice! Those cube amps are really fun to play with and a much better buy than the Crates!Mephis said:I heard the effects of the roland, they sound better then alot of pedals, Im going to get that roland cube, thanks for you're help.

I had one for a brief time and I was very disappointed. The effects are barely adjustable and the tones were cold, lifeless and sterile. Blech. I'd go for a used Flextone II 1x12 combo if you want something decent.TheLizardKing said:What about the Spider 212 combo amp for 299$? That has effects and I've heard good things about it. Or the Fender Frontman with 100 watts of power for 300$. I'm interested in that Kustom amp with 100w, bitch sounds loud.
