Are guitar barrel jacks universal?

Need one for an ibanez S. Are there different versions for metric and imperial?

there are metric and imperial ones out there.

They are all the same diameter, if that's what you're asking.

But they come in 2 pin mono, 3 pin mono, 3 pin stereo, and 4 pin stereo. But they will all work and do the same thing for a normal guitar needing just a mono output.

Outer diameter is 11.5-11.8mm (.453-.465"). The hole in the guitar is usually 12mm or 1/2" dia. so any barrel jack will work, import or American.

Watch the orientation or the barrel when you install it. I just did one on my latest warmoth build.

I had to rotate it 90° or so from the initial install due to the sound cutting out when the cord had sideways pressure in the upwards direction from a chair, couch, my leg, etc.

After the orientation, it's been fine.

A better solution would be to watch what you're doing to your guitar.

Remember...birds fly south for the winter so make sure your guitar is always facing the west so the birds won't fly into it and destroy the finish.
