Are "licensed" Floyd Rose trem springs the same as "normal"?

I'm trying to get my old Ibby RG put back together. I thought I had all the parts in one bag, but the trem springs are missing. It's a MIJ Ibanez Edge trem. All the hardware on the guitar is black. Would the springs be black? I have trem springs in multiple unmarked parts drawers. I'd like to put the original one's back, if possible.

Thanks all;
Artie

Lord have mercy. I don't like this new "image" system. There's no control.

Trem springs are silver. Genuine Ibanez springs are stainless, licensed fr springs are grey or silverish, not bright like Ibanez.

They are interchangeable.

Whichever springs you use, they will exert the same pull as the strings when the bridge is set up flush. So from that point of view I don't think it matters. The stiffness of the spring can however alter a bit how the unit feels when using the whammy and in my experience the stiffer springs are better at returning the unit to zero point after full divebombs. There are black springs though if that is what you're looking for. :) The "regular" tension noiseless springs from Floyd are black. However they are not regular - I've found them to be a good 2 turns longer and way less stiff than the springs the unit shipped with. Also, I believe that FU tones makes all kind of colors too, can't recall though the color/tension relation there.

That's a great point, that I hadn't considered. I'm sure I'm good to go. The only reason I cared about the color is because I thought that if they were black, I'd be able to easier identify the originals in a drawer. I don't personally care what color they are.
Although, black might be cool since I've apparently also misplaced the trem cavity cover. :smack:

By “misplaced” you mean discarded, right? Because that’s what you’re supposed to do with the cavity covers.

Uhmm . . . sure. Dat's the ticket. :naughty:

Seriously though, on this guitar, they kinda did it right. The trem cover is nicely recessed, rather than just tacked on the surface. It's a nice vintage RG touch.
Look at the 3rd pic.
