Re: Are schecter guitars any good?
I own a C1 Hellraiser. Absolutely perfect in every detail...(neck, frets, finish, access to upper frets, light weight) except for the active EMGs. They are only so-so. Would like to replace with a good set of Duncans one day.
I would not hesitate to buy another Schecter.
True that their prices are going up. People recognize the quality and are buying them up. Then there's the supply/demand aspect which keeps the price moving upward.
But, imo, they are better quality than any guitar under $1000 (probably $2000).
Well, after checking out what Jackson, ESP, and Ibanez have to offer, I am strongly considering getting this guitar in the white finish.
Ibanez has something similar, but it's a 1,500 guitar, it's a signature model (TOO signature) and is way too flashy in the red finish. I already have a black Kirk Hammett ESP. I don't need a black ibanez that has almost the same features. I ibanez I'm talking about is the Mick Thompson (slipknot) signature model.
The schecter has the same features (SD blackouts, jumbo frets...etc) and is half the price. From what I hear, they are good guitars. Decent at least.
The question now is, should I get this now, and a new amp (head) later, or the head now and this later?
I have good amps and guitars available to me. It's not like I need a different guitar or amp, it's just that things are starting to get serious and I'd like to own some (slightly) higher quality gear.
This c-1 comes without a case from every online retailer. They don't sellthis exact guitar localy. Case is an additional $99. Even so, I think all this is still a good deal, even if it was a grand.
