Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

I guess I've mostly got Boss too, but there's a smattering of other stuff in there too.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

whatever sounds the best in the flavor i'm looking for is what i go with

thats it right there. ive found timmy to work best with bf fendery amps. if i used a marshally amp i might use something else

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

Nah... no brand loyalty here with pedals. Although, if I could afford it, I'd be all about Pete Cornish stuff, but I am lucky enough to be able to say I've at least got a buffer direct from the man himself.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

I'm not loyal to any one brand, I just play what I like and sounds good. My pedals consist of...
5 BOSS (TU-2, CE-5, DD-7, DS-1, ME-50)
5 Dunlop/MXR/Way Huge (Carbon Copy, Dyna Comp, Classic Overdrive, Green Rhino, Cry Baby)
3 Hardwire (DL-8, CM-2, SC-2)
2 MI Audio (Blues Pro, Crunch Box)
1 Electro Harmonix (Metal Muff w/ top boost)
1 Fender (Classic Volume)

No.

I think it's funny when I see someone's pedal board and all they've got on there is 10 Boss pedals.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

No specific brand loyalty, but I find that for the money, I get great quality and tone from MXR and Duncan.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

All of mine (except my Korg Pitchblack tuner) are from Electro-harmonix. No specific loyalty just when I went into the store to try out reverb and later delay pedals they were the ones that sounded most pleasant. I always use my reverb pedal, even live if we're in a smaller or a carpeted room.

I love the stuff Barber makes...I don't know anyone who has a better build and tone at their pricepoint.

Whatever I like the sound of... I do have to say that nothing sounds like a Boss delay. They have a very certain sound that only they can do. They're also built like tanks.

Really dig mxr and ehx stuff too. Every pedal brand has their own unique sound.

my answer is no and that's coming from an incredibly OCD guy (hahaha no fulltone pun intended).

I like a variety of pedals from tc electronic, mxr, ehx, fulltone, voodoo lab, boss, duncan, marshall, catalinbred, bbe, etc. Really there are a ton of great sounding pedals available I prefer mixing it up to get the best quality/value possible.

Right now I have a BBE wah > Duncan Double Back Compressor > Boss SD-1 (I'd like to get this modded Analogman SD-1/808/Silver with toggle) > Fulltone '69 mk II > EHX Ravish Sitar > TC Electronic Flashback > Korg GT12 Tuner

Got a tweak fuzz and twin tube classic also but they aren't in the main lineup, I'm still in the air about keeping them.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

Brand doesn't matter, but the pedal and what it does.....matters.

Yep, and how it interacts with YOUR gear and YOUR ears is
what's definitely most important. My pedals are all over the
board (pun intended). If it rocks me, it'll rock you, because
I'll have that puppy dialed in.

Peace,

Darrin

I have to agree with this. I've got two Barbers on my board now. The 1/2 Gainer is the best sounding low gain OD I've every heard. I picked up a used DD locally last year just because the price was right. Now I see they're out of production and I'm glad I got one.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

I love ehx pedals, but I'm not specifically brand loyal. I have a wiggler, holy grail, big muff, tube screamer, sansamp, a few crybabies, some homemade fuzzboxes, delay champ, boss noise gate, some boss metal pedal I never use. They're all fun to use but at the end of the day, warm tube od is the best on its own.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

Yes and no. I buy whatever sounds right, but prefer brands i'm familiar with.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

I'm very brand loyal, but that doesn't mean I won't buy/try a differ brand.

Now being brand loyal doesn't necessarily mean just one brand.

I'm a huge supporter of MXR. They make quality pedals. I don't like EHX, BOSS or Digitech (although I do dig the hardwire series). Ernie ball makes the best volume pedal. Dunlop makes the best wahs. Fulltone and voodoo labs make quality pedals.

Re: Are you loyal to a brand when it comes to pedals?

For me its Empress - they are a local company here (I am in the same city). Really well thought out effects with lots of tweakability.
