Hi,
this is a bit of a distress call at the moment. my current setup is:
Highway 1 strat with JB loaded in the bridge.
Marshall AVT 275
and these pedals (in order of my singla chain) - Cry Baby Wah - MXR Phase 90 - Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde distortion - Belcat delay pedal - Nobel compressor
right, i've just had a band practise and im really not happy, first of all i got a bit of buzz from my amp, nothing really bad but a bit of a hum, then when i took my hand off the strings it really buzzed, not like screeching feedback but a loudish buzz.
i have my amp on clean with like 2 thirds bass and middle then just over half treble, and have the blunt setting on my J&H with a quite trebbly tone to it...sounded OK, not brilliant but OK, again, i was pissed off muchly with the hum and buzzing.
then whenever i play otaves like the octave of D on the A and G string, frets 5 and 7, i get WAY too much G string...i mean, the pole piece is as low as it can go on the G string and the action is a lil bit higher on the G than the other to try and reduce this but it still doesnt sound right.
Im just really unhappy with the whoel setup atht emoment ad id like some advice, pointers, tips whatever anyone can give me frome expereince...soemthigns i might want to try, stuff that needs to be done etc.
im going tot ry an invader in my strat someitme just for a try and see what happens with that. but anyone that might have some tips or anytihng on those points wqillb e greatly appreciate,d im a but depressed now, i thought ym setup was going tob e good played loud getting the true sound of my amp but im dissapointed. i know the whole fun of it is to tweak it and personalize it but i dont know what to try first, next and would like some advice.
thanks
