Well, could you go try it and tell me what it sounds like ?
I've had a look at those and they (on paper) look awesome for the money, but I've never seen one in a shop.
They got a decent review in guitarist magazine if I remember right... I'll go see if I still have the issue and scan it and stick it on here for a while...

I liked it! It was real tight and had quite a bit of gain on tap...the controls are a bit funny in that there is a vol and a gian for each channel and then 2 master volumes which are switchable, and there is gobs and gobs of bass...in fact if I have a beef with the amp so far it is that it might have TOO MUCH BASS!!! So far I think it's a great amp.
I've been especially intrigued by the Peacemaker 100 handwired Ashdown, but I guess they're up there in price. Even though they're distributed in LA, I still can't seem to find them anywhere. Lots of guys are raving about their combos, saying they're the best bang for buck combo for rock guitarists. Everytime I see people talking about Peavey Classic 30's and Traynors, I can't help but think that an Ashdown would suit their style better.

GJ...I was hoping you would chime in! Do you know anything about their quality? This is not one of the handwired amps, but it is the only Ashdown I have ever seen in person. It appears that list as right around $1400.00...the guy that has it goes through gear like I go through water! It is about 6 months old, looks BRAND NEW and I can get it for $450.00! I played through it for a while, but Im gonna go back and try it again with at least one of my guitars...so far I am impressed!
I've heard that Ashdown is supposedly the reincarnation of Hiwatt...so, they've got a lot to live up to! :laugh2:
The only problem I've heard of concerning Ashdowns was a bias issue with the Fallen Angel. Of course, it could have been a unit-specific or pre-production issue.
For $450, I'd just get it, then dial it in later with tubes that put it in the direction you want to go. Personally, I've never plugged into a Fallen Angel, but I'd assume it's the same kind of quality you'd get with a Marshall, Peavey, Krank etc. For that price, and since you liked it, you should just get it. If you get tired of it, sell it for $650 and move on. I can't tell you much about those amps, since I've never seen a Peacemaker or Fallen Angel anywhere. I've only seen the combos in boutique stores. They use those for the guys that don't have the budget for their pricier amps.
i was interested in those before i bought my TECH 21...from what i understand the Fallen Angel is for dropped tunning in particular, so that's why there is so much bass available...sort of like the marshall mode 4! i've never actually played one though, but i'd like to...their bass amps are on my list for a new bass rig as well...i need to look them up around here and give them a try!?
