Attack of the killer micro heads!

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre
The Orange micro heads have company...more (tube buffered) SS 20W goodness..

Re: Attack of the killer micro heads!

EVERY ONE and their dogs are now jumping on the mirco amp Band Wagon :scratchch:mad:

If one does it, the rest must do it too . . .

Re: Attack of the killer micro heads!

Funny thing is . . .

. . .
Orange came out with the very 1st Toaster amp, and not soon afterwards, EVERY ONE started making 'em !

NOW, again, Orange came out with the valve-pre/SS-power Micro Amp, and now the rest of the amp world is about to follow and jump on the proverbial band wagon.

Re: Attack of the killer micro heads!

that looks very awesome, I'm actually thinking of getting the 6505 whenever they get available, great price too.
some questions:

1. This doesn't seem to have a standby switch, do I still need to wait for the single tube to warm up?
2. I guess it is, but will it be loud enough to jam (eventually gig) with a band trough a 4x12?

thanks for answers and can't wait to get similiar tones to those amazing big peavey heads on a budget :)

Standby switches control the tube power amp section. Since this is solid state, you won't need it.

That Peavey looks like everything I'd want in a lunchbox. FX loop, plenty of gain on tap... $179. damn.

http://thetoneking.com/wp/mini-me-thetoneking-com-talks-micro-tube-amps/ not saying it's the bible, but I think that's how it went down chronologically

Re: Attack of the killer micro heads!

While the Peavey sounds cool, what I'm really intrigued by is that guitar-oriented subwoofer.

Re: Attack of the killer micro heads!

Not to take anything away from Orange, but that's pretty much how everything works in the guitar world lol..

The Peavey sounds sick (I want one too!) but the Grey (hi-gain) Joyo's not too shabby either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-lEd_FI2fU&t=8m2s. It'll be interesting to see what the other's in the range are based on. They seem to be like higher wattage Hotone's..

I think zvex had first micro amp actually. All others jumped on board and look where we are at now. Win for bedroom guitarists.

Zvex micro head first appeared in 2003
