Attention Floyd and Khaler users

I found a string maker that makes strings specifically for Floyds with out the ball ends so you don't have to cut them off or string them backwards. They also make strings for Khalers as well but I don't see them on this site. I have a set of the regular SIT but haven't got around to putting them on yet so I can't say how good or bad they are but they look promising.

Cutting strings is actually less painful than cutting nails.

Re: Attention Floyd and Khaler users

Yeah for me this really solves a non problem. Takes no time to clip the ends off the strings . But eh if it blows your skirt up have at it.

Re: Attention Floyd and Khaler users

I like the colored ends on d'addarrios cause it let's me know which string I'm on before I cut off the end.

Re: Attention Floyd and Khaler users

I love Fender Bullets on my Kahler, and I can get 'em anywhere (sometimes for dirt cheap).

Re: Attention Floyd and Khaler users

Kahler cam vibrato bridges present three issues. Firstly, regular ball ends are not a very good fit for the string anchor points. They tend to squirm about, potentially affecting tuning stability. Secondly, vigorous whammy bar usage can result in the wrapped section of the string being pulled undone. Thirdly, the wrapped portion of the string can bite into the cam body. This has the potential to affect tuning stability and can create random pinging noises of the sort that you would expect from a Fender Jaguar.

But I like stringing them backwards.

Ooh, er. Missus.

Re: Attention Floyd and Khaler users

I always string my Floyd backwards. No poked fingers, it looks good and I would have to cut the string any way. Can't stand excess string hanging out up there! Looks like crap
