Audio interface?

Re: Audio interface?

I used to have an ART USB TubeMP, kinda thin and harsh. Right now I just got a Mackie Onyx Satellite and am putting it through its paces. I like it a bit better so far. The preamp is fatter and more glassy sounding. Has a lot more features than I need, but it does run in stereo and have phantom power....

Re: Audio interface?

Need more details: instruments being recorded, if you need onboard pres or not, number of inputs, USB or FireWire, and pricerange for starters.

Guitar, Bass, VOX, no onboard pres, let's say 4 inputes?, usb or firewire works, I dunno what a reasonable price is, maybe $200-300?

Re: Audio interface?

just got the M-audio mobile pre. not terrible. seems to work. difficult to set up for vista, as M-audio doesn't support vista much at the current time.

By pres I mean micamps - don't need any? 99% come with them these days.

Something like a Presonus Firebox would be perfect for you.

Re: Audio interface?

I use the Presonus Firepod...I have nothing but good things to say about it. Good luck on your decision.
