Hey all...
I think im going to be planning on changing my 4x12 to avatar cab pretty soon. Im trying to figure out some stuff though. Speaker Combinations, open or closed back, etc. Right now im using a MG100hdfx head and cab, and until around xmas time when Im going to be getting a new Marshall tube head
(probabally 1987xl RI), i want to get my cab purchase out of the way and have some better tone till then. So... Im trying to figure out an Avatar cab that can handle at least 100 watts ( this will work with the 100w MG head right?)
with 4 ohms?
Well, basically im looking for this tone with any combo of speakers(preferrably celestion g12h, v30, or greenback)
Im looking for a blues or a "hendrix/british" sort of sound. Im not looking for really heavy metal stuff, just some good FAT vintage british tones.
So.. should I go for the G12H & V30 combo. or is there a better setup i could choose? Also, if im looking for a fatter tone while completementing the speaker choice, should I go, open or closed back?
Thanks-
Alex
