Re: Avatar Signature or Mesa Widebody Cab
I have no experience with Avatar, but I KNOW the Mesa cabs are excellent.
So, do you want closed back or open back? There are some different versions of the Widebody cab. My choice for a 112 with a Stiletto Ace head would be the Wide-Body Closed Back with the C-90. I have this cab with a V-30. I use it with my Mark V combo; it has an open back and a C-90. The open combo and the closed back cab work really well together. If you are not going to crank the amp, the V-30 will work. You can order this cab with the V-30, with no upcharge.
If you went with a 212 cab, go with either the Mesa Horizontal Recto V-30 212, or the same speakers in the Vertical Recto 212. I prefer the smaller footprint of the Vertical. They sound slightly different, but nothing huge.
You might find a deal on a used Boogie 212 Half-Back cab. One of my all-time faves, the top is open and the bottom half is closed and ported. The common speaker configuration is a C-90 on the top and an EVM in the bottom. Just a killer cab.
One other rig would be to get a set of the 112 Recto cabs. They have the V-30 and come straight or slant. I'm using these with my Mark V:25. It is a terrific little mini-stack--they are small speakers and they sound HUGE. I think your Stiletto might match perfectly. Not cheap, but there are several reasons why I like a mini-stack, like having the amp controls near eye-level, and having a VERY small stage footprint.
As you can figure out, I like the closed back cabs for the Stiletto.
Be sure to get an 8-ohm cab, no matter whose cab you get.
I hope this helps.
