AVT buzzing!

Man, it really gets me down when a piece of my gear is sick!
Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Here's the scoop.

I tried my Marshall AVT50 combo the other day & on the OD channel it's making a "buzzing" sound as soon as my guitar volume is turned up. It's very loud when I turn the pre & master volumes up on amp also. It's almost like a sound it would make if an electrical appliance is too close or something is not grounded properly. It also gets louder the farther away I bring guitar from amp?

Here's what I trouble-shot so far to no avail:
-new 12Ax7 tube
-different guitars
-different cords straight into amp
-tried different outlets in house
-tried at friend's house

Any other ideas what it might be that I can suggest to the guitar tech I'm bringing it to?

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: AVT buzzing!

Sounds like you tried all the obvious things. Does that AVT have a reset button on it? Can't think of anything else.

Re: AVT buzzing!

ok i cant see any relation to your problem and this but, the imput jacks on the avt are crappy plastic things (i have had an avt150combo for 3 years) and i remember if a guitar jack shorts or is wired incorrect the guitar will make hurrendoes noise when plugged into a guitar amplifier. well it could possibly (though this is just a rough guess i have little knowledge of guitar amps) that the input jack is faulty. try plugging your guitar into the effects loop return at the back of the amp and give it some volume to see if the promblem is gone or still there. at least then you could determine whether its a preamp, effects loop, power amp problem. another thing if that does not work try running one cable from the send through to the return of your amp. check if the problem is still there. also try running the guitar into the front with the master volume on 0 and running a cable from the emulated output or headphone output into another guitar amps input, effects return or into your pc soundcard input. these are just various check you can do to identy the problem and where its coming from.

and most of all.

good luck (the avt amps are great, i love em :P )

Ryan

Edit: appolagies for the bad spelling
