Awesome NGD

I never thought I would have picked a guitar like this. However, I like it for some weird reason. The color is fantastic, but my pictures don't do it much justice. There are better pics on the Internet. It's called Inverness Green. It's a Les Paul Standard Traditional Pro II, LOL a mouth-full. The Traditional Pro II's are different from the Traditional Pros in that they have a battery-powered boost system, and the knobs are really cool because you don't have to push/pull them to coil-tap or engage the boost. You only have to push the knob and it pops out.

What is even cooler than that is there is a trim pot so you can control how much boost up to 10 db. I don't know what else has changed besides those features and the colors. Oh there is a 9v battery compartment built in to the backplate but it's freaking hard to open without bending or nicking the plastic latch.

Ah yes, there is one other minor change. The coil taps are true single coil taps. In the previous version, the coil taps would not completely isolate one of the coils. Well something like that.

Nice colour. Pots that spring up slightly when you push down on them are called push-push. I'm not sure why any Les Paul needs a booster circuit, just plenty of valve gain. :)

Re: Awesome NGD

Well it does a great job of pushing the amp harder. The 57's aren't high output pickups so it gives me a little more distortion when I'm using my plexi or want to get more breakup on a clean channel.

Inverness Green is usually associated with Firebirds, Thunderbirds, SGs and Melody Makers.

NICE! The best LP I've ever played was a Studio Deluxe II, it had the same boost system, which was actually an awesome feature. It sounded monstrous with the boost on full.

I don't remember seeing this exact same color before, but I'm warming up to it now. Everyone else seems to like it and no one said it's gay yet.

It does seem to add some fullness but also seems to boost the treble a bit which gives it cut for solos or edge for scooped mids and lots of bass.
