Re: B.C.Rich Bronze Series Warlock
It might look cool but it definitely won't sound as good as other basses you can get for only a bit more or the same money. In my experience, B.C. Rich don't really specialize in amazing basses. Their above entry-level guitars are where it's at. Check out some G&L (I use an American G&L but the tribute models still use American hardware and sound pretty good), Spector, Warwick, Washburn, Ibanez (don't aim too low if you have to get a Soundgear and the ATK whips it for metal) and even some Squiers. I've heard a handful of LTDs and Schecters that were okay as well but I've never really heard a B.C. Rich bass that sounded how I think a bass should sound. They are notorious for not handling the low B well on the 5 string.
Definitely keep Traben in mind. They are versatile, sound awesome and are very affordable. I also highly recommend Raven West, an independent company who don't spend very much on advertising so their basses look and sound absolutely gorgeous. Our original bass player had a Raven West 5 string and I've never heard anything that sounds or looks quite like it. I'll find a picture for you.
