Daily reminder: Your Fender's neck is NOT mechanically coupled to its body :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

Or to put a deeper spin on it:

Definition of mechanical
1a: of or relating to machinery or tools <mechanical applications of science> <a mechanical genius> <mechanical aptitude> (2) : produced or operated by a machine or tool <mechanical power> <a mechanical refrigerator> <a mechanical saw>
b: of or relating to manual operations
2: of or relating to artisans or machinists <the mechanical trades>
3a: done as if by machine : seemingly uninfluenced by the mind or emotions : automatic
b: of or relating to technicalities or petty matters
4a: relating to, governed by, or in accordance with the principles of mechanics <mechanical energy>
b: relating to the quantitative relations of force and matter <mechanical pressure of wind on a tower>
5: caused by, resulting from, or relating to a process that involves a purely physical as opposed to a chemical or biological change or process <mechanical erosion of rock>

Definition of coupling
: a device that connects two parts or things
: the act of having sex
: the act of combining two things

Re: Backbone: Joke?

lol. Anything can be improved upon, but I'm amused by how the concept of how a chunk of "aircraft grade aluminum" (never can grade?) purports to "mechanically link" your neck (as if a Strat will implode at any moment) and improve your tone.

I have a feeling that nailing a pound of metal to a Les Paul or Steinberger would also have an effect, and a similar amount of effect; it just amuses me how they play to people who seem ashamed of playing "inferior" bolt-on necks by the wording of their marketing and (likely) arbitrary architecture of happening to bolt to the trem cavity and neck screws.

Cure for world hunger? Who would be stupid enough to buy ANYTHING with that as part of the promised benefits?
