Another NAD. The one I've been waiting for

Same thing w/ my 30W Brutus Live head (2x5881's) -> 1x12 with Eminence Legend GB128..

It's my only other "Marshall-esque" sounding amp...except for maybe my 15 watt Chinese Goldea head..

I had it on the "Mid" voicing which is probably the most Marshall/Vox grindy grainy chewy (British) kinda tone out of this amp....

With my Line 6 DT 50...

This can actually do the chewy/raspy Marshally thing too if you dial it in that way ( I did'nt ..it's smoother/more "US" sounding here..)

Either way ..it's always a really fun amp to play.. :bigthumb:

Probably should have dialed in a bit more treble for this one...it' s super middy..

Reminds me bit of Michael Denner from Mercyful Fate's tone on some of the later MF albums (In the Shadows onwards)

Little playthrough vid w/ the treble bumped a bit. Tones Like this are pretty much my ideal Marshall lead tones. Sweet, screamy and with a bit of pleasing nasality :bigthumb:

Another fun playhrough ...with more deep thinking about interesting note choices :lmao:

BC Rich Ironbird Pro w/ a single EMG 89R bridge pup..

And continuing this "playthrough' series of vids..

Back to the Epic/melodic semi-ballad...

This one's a nice mix of styles/fun to play 'cuz I get to explore my sensitive side w/ all the epic melodies while still giving the old digits a nice & nippy workout in my own special way :bigthumb:

This is also my first time trying the JVM w/ a guitar w/ alnico singles...and the Sire has EXCELLENT stock pup's. That goes for the Humbucker in the bridge too. It's absolutely awesome. Pretty killer sounding/playing/looking guitar all-in-all..

Oops...my bad..that's ^^ a Sire Larry Carlton 'S7' not 'S2'....still, w/e 'S' it may be, it's a great fucking axe & effortless to play....

I get why so many shred dude's like Yngwie like single-coils. Axes like this one & my YJM Strat lack for nothing when it comes to tone & playability.. this one probably even more so 'cause of the humbucker in the bridge.

Surprisingly they've always felt great for tapping as well, especially neck single coil's :bigthumb:

And the Grote Semi-hollow again w/ my Line 6 DT50 (-> 1x12 w/ Creamback M)

Fokin 'Rocket Queen' neck pup (A2) :bigthumb:

I was shakin' in my boots w/ fear...( cuz I was sober :lmao:)

Yet I struggled on :D

And after a few pints in the evening it all goes to **** ...:lmao:

Apparently I did'nt switch my phone on for video for this take...so it's audio only..

Middle-Eastern Jam..

^^ It's actually probably the second time I'm playing that ^^ guitar since I bought it/set it up about a year ago (one of the pitfalls of having 40+ guitars :p). And I was pleasantly surprised by how well it played/great it sounded. :bigthum:

I've said it before and I'll say it again..the new Ibanez Quantum pup's are pretty damn impressive (way better than the nondescript Quantums that came stock in my '94 S540Ltd). It's also my first guitar w/ a "Meranti" body and it sounds fantastic, has a fat & slightly 'round' feel to individual notes that I love.

Initially I did'nt love the "weathered black" finish (I'd ordered a "black cherry finish, butthey shipped this out instead....got the black cherry one used/mint a week later for a very good price so I kept both) and found it a bit dull, but as I'm looking at it now..it's actually pretty stealthy & sinister looking in a good way :laugh2:

I'm actually quite fan of how some of these newer tonewoods sound...Okoume & Meranti especially, if these guitars are anything to go by. Of course it helps that we're talking Sabre's :D

Did I mention, this thing f'n SHREDS \m/

Plays as good as my old 540...

Yeah, really a fun player

Made me want to give Mr. Crowley a shot again :bigthumb:

Here it is (Ibanez S520 WK) w/ my Laney IRT120..

Works really great for tapping & sweeping...it's so comfortable getting all those 7 (not 8) fingers involved :laugh2:

A more chilled out tune w/ (slightly) less 7 (not 8) finger tapping/sweeping ...deeply emotional & mellow, but no less fun :bigthumb:

Jamming over the Cannon Rock backing track w/ my Laney IRT120 & Ibanez RGT Premium neck-through (DMZ Tone Zone first followed by the Air Norton in the neck)

More neoclassical..

I used the nifty blue filter 'cuz I was wearing a grubby wife beater that was food & beer-stained & pretty gross :laugh2:

Guitar needed a bit of tuning/was slightly flat I think...but never mind ..it's all in good fun :bigthumb:

Moving on...

Back to the Marshall ..this was recorded whisper soft with my Ibanez Saber Prestige (both pups) at 5:00 am...so kinda fizzy. The JVM sounds decent at lower volumes but at the lowest settings (like this) it's 100% preamp gain & often fizzy...you can actually hear/feel the power section kick in if you turn it up just a hair, but that's still too loud for 5:00am jamming w/ cranky, unappreciative neighbours :laugh2:

Also my phone cam is pretty much non-functional until daylight comes in ..so it's audio only.

And anyway, it's amply clear how I roll, what with all the "playthrough" video's in this thread :bigthumb:

Far be it from me to be narcissistic and continue endlessly down that ^^ pretty unique & mind-bogglingly fast (yet melodic) road when it's run it's course. So from now things will mostly be back to "audio only" which is frankly a lot less trouble :lmao:

Def looking forward to putting my incoming FGN Koa axe to the test up there in the Guitar section :bigthumb:

All the fizz dissapears @ conversation levels...

Relaxed, psychadelic kinda tune w/ my Purple Kramer Baretta Special...
