I never understood the fuss over Supros. Sometimes they sounded OK but I never heard video or audio of one that really grabbed my attention. I wonder if it's because of the speakers people use with them. Well, at least Supros have a distinctive sound. This was a sound I recognized when browsing a music store, but the kind of Supro sound that finally caught my attention. I'm not saying it's spot on Supro or anything, but it has that kind of sound. Wow! I gotta say that even though I would never have considered this kind of amp before, Tone King did something right with the Falcon. It's one of the absolute best sounds I have ever heard. It's freaking sublime.
I wish I could have had more that 5 minutes with it, but the salesman came by and scooped it up because someone walked in and put money on the counter for it. I'm just blown away. This isn't just some classic sounding amp. I mean it has all that, but there's some kind of tightness about it or something that if you put an overdrive on it, you would have some pretty hard rocking riffs and soloing.
The things I need to know about it are:
How loud can it get?
How much loud clean headroom can it get with humbuckers without lowering your guitar volume?
Has anyone tried it with effects and distortions?
I'm itching pretty hard for one of these. If anyone has some experience or owns one then I'll be real interested to hear what you have to say.
