Bad Monkey....Bad MOFO

Let it B
I picked up one of these at SamAsh the other day as I've been in need of a basic "goose" for lead work.

I gotta say, for the $, I don't think you can beat this snot-green thing. With the very effective Bass and high controls, you can do Tubescreamer, SOD, or kind go off an do your own thing.

I ran the lows at 1 oclock, the highs at noon, level maxed, gain around 8 oclock and into the Marshall 2203 model on my VoxAD15VT, it's perfect for what I need. Just a nice smooth lead boost thats NOT too compressed..which is an issue with a TS and SOD usually. The low EQ lets you dial back in the slight bass loss.

Then I goofed around the PLexi models, the Dumble clean, the Vox AC15, Marshall TSL and the Mesa Rectum-fryer. It really was great through the dumble, I got some killer 70s/early 80s larry carlton type tones out of it. It made the Boogie pretty useable, the TSL tighter and fuller. The AC15 sounded just wonderful with it, and the Plexi sounded good, but the BM sounded better on the other models IMO....though the VOx Plexi model is EXTREMELY finnicky, IME, and its much easier to get a bad tone out of it than a good one (but when ya get her tweaked it sounds really nice).

Pedal seems sturdy as well. It's def not a OCD, or a Plexi_tone, but it's also about 1/5 the price. Nice little goose pedal. Def $ well spent! Perfect for my needs! :bigthumb:

That is all

You have clearance Clarence

Cool review, bro. Thankfully I have no need for another OD pedal...LOL. Between the ones I have now and a few others I haven't finished building yet, I think I'm good to go. :D
