Badass vs aluminum

My Melody Maker came with a Badass bridge. I do not have the original, but I’m curious as to what I’d expect from swapping to a lightweight aluminum bridge. GFS sells a Wilkinson that looks interesting.

Any opinions?

It really depends on the pickups you're using. With really high output it might not matter all that much, while I've had PAFs go both ways. When using P-90s or other singles I definitely like a heavier bridge better for a slightly fatter lower midrange and maybe slightly less high end.

Give yourself a chance to get used to guitar’s sound first. Unless you are looking to brighten or dull the sond, leave it

Thanks, guys.

I think I’d like to order a Mean 90 for it, and I was thinking about getting the Wilkinson bridge at the same time since it’s pretty inexpensive. I usually play Strats, so cheap and easy bridge swapping isn’t something I’m used to.
