There are all sorts of pickup cover shapes. There is not necessarily a requirement for them to be any shape really. If we're talking PAF cover shape, well VERY few covers about actually do that one right.....

edit - just looked at the Throbak site, I wouldn't say the BKP cover (for vintage offerings) is so far removed from that at all. You'd have to be incredibly picky to be calling it not at all right.

Excuse me, how can the pickup cover be wrong shape? I's rectangle, so if it fits the rectangular hole rigth and the holes line up for screws, I don't see how it can not be right?

^ A lot of the PAF clone market gets right into the shape of the cover.
Otherwise you are right, there physically cannot be a wrong cover shape as you make precisely the shape you want the pickup to have.

I never said the cover was the "wrong" shape... That came from AlexR. The BK covers have an almost TV shape to them, which is not wrong, be certainly not common. I had a set of Mule's in my LPC, but didn't care for the cover shape. OCD, I know. Likewise, the Tom Holmes pups have sharper edges than most. Love those sharp edges!

Actually, that didn't come from me either.....only as a response to the concept of wrong.
