So, i bought myself a new thunderbird, and i thought it was a bit boring so i...did some drawings on it, with permanent paint parkers, but should i put a layer of clear finish over that? Did many hours over this bass, and when i touch the drawings harder with my fingers they start fading awae, my only concern is that the clear finish will blend with those markers, althrough they are dry, and i also have got som stickers i would like to paint over so they dont dissapear, and if i should strip the bass or just rake some tape over the pickups and be done, and one more thing...i have got one drawing on the head, but dont want a glossy neck, any sollutions? And the finish is satin black, so i wonder if i can have clear finish over that at all...

Eek, try putting a workable fixative on it first, especially if you want to continue putting more art on it. Its sort of a not-sticky spray glue instead of a clearcoat. After you get a layer of fixative on there and test for tackiness or paint coming off, then do a clear over it. Preferably many thin layers with a sanding in between. Good luck man. Pics if possible!

Will post pics soon, just been working on it for the past two weeks( since i bought it, barely been doing anything else) and getting done with drawings tonight i think...but you never know, open for ideas from my pals so can be more drawings to see

Sorry for the terrible quality, but best i could do on my phone right now, but atleast you get the idea, just threw on everything i could think of, nott supposed to be classy or anything like that as you clearly can see

hey, sorry for the late response.
It looks like you'd just be good with a clearcoat spray over it. I don't think that stuff will drift or come up with a quick thin layer, let it dry, than hit it with another good layer or 3.

Ok, new pic of head, was thinking about putting a small piece of steel just over the hole, make a new hole for screw...gonna clearcoat it, and put in a killswitch. Thinking about putting in new pickups aswell this summer...anyone knows if i can use other bands stickers and stuff like that live? Haha, just had to ask...
